Composition
Composition is the way we organize pictorial elements in the image. General themes or styles include: four quarters grid model, repetition and isolation. These concepts can be applied to any situation whether it be a landscape or a family photo.
You can see the effect of depth of field (DOF) on the composition of a photo. A narrow DOF, when using a wide aperture, such as f 1.4, isolates a subject through focus. Wide DOF, when using a narrow aperture such as f 16, puts more of the image in apparent focus.
